HRH The Duke of Edinburgh presents the English Language Book Award
December 2002

On a cold but sunny winter morning, winners, guests and sponsors gathered together in the elegant surroundings of the Cinema at Buckingham Palace for the award ceremony of the Duke of Edinburgh ESU English Language Book Award.

The Macmillan English Dictionary for Advanced Learners, published by Macmillan, was chosen as this year’s winner of the competition for its innovation, modernity, creativity, presentation and practicality.

The award ceremony was opened by the Chairman of the English Speaking Union (ESU) Lord Watson, who invited the President of the ESU HRH The Duke of Edinburgh to present the awards to the winners.
