About the competition

The annual Love English Awards, hosted by Macmillan Dictionary, is a public voting contest where readers can nominate and cast their vote for their favourite blog and/or website about the English language. It is a yearly event that is held from November to February.

Which blogs/websites can be nominated?

The awards are designed to support blogs and websites that are 'English language gems' where people go to learn more about English. These blogs/websites can be hosted in any language, as long as the main subject of the blog/website is the English language.

They can be:

  • educational sites
  • teachers' blogs
  • resource sites
  • websites/blogs about words
  • or any other blog/website that inspires you to learn more about English!

Is there a blog or website that you regularly read to satisfy your curiosity about English? Where do you go for your English language resources?

Share your love and appreciation for your favourite blog/website and make sure that your favourite is nominated for the Macmillan Dictionary Love English Awards.

How does it work?

Our Love English Awards competition is comprised of two stages:

  • Stage 1 – Nominations: members of the public are asked to nominate their favourite English language blog and/or website.
  • Stage 2 – Voting: members of the public are invited to vote for their favourite nominated blog and/or website.
  • The blog/website with the most votes wins the competition in each category. There are also two runners-up per category.

NEW for 2013!
